My name is Marta Hannah and I have been a volunteer with the Friends of the Library for approximately nine years now. Currently, I sort and shelve books one day a week. Several times each year I also assist the managers with sorting through the many boxes of books that are donated to the Friends of the Library. I enjoy volunteering at the bookstore with Barbara and Ann and the other dedicated volunteers and know that our efforts sorting and shelving donated books make it easier for our customers to easily locate books that they are interested in reading.
Hi, I’m Barbara Catt. I’ve been with the Friends for seven years, first as a cashier on Thursday night and now as shelver on Thursday mornings. I really enjoy working with Marta and Ann. We have a great time and get the job done! The librarians and employees are a super group and make this a great place to volunteer. I love the library, and the Friends do wonderful work on its behalf. I am happy to be a part of it. My dream is to bring the boxes in the storage room to a height not more than three feet. Like I said—a dream!
My name is Ann Axelson – a proud member of the City of La Habra and the Friends of the Library. I’m a relative “newbie” as I joined just four years ago. My specialty is sorting the magazines donated to the library. I enjoy working with Sue on Tuesdays as well as Marta and Barbara on Thursdays. It’s been a pleasure and I look forward to many more years of service.
